In the Aravali hills of Rajasthan, a restored 18th century palace rises over the artisan village of Delwara. Originally built to house Prince Sajja Singh and his family, Devi Garh now plays host to an exclusive clientele drawn to the resort's understated elegance and indulgent luxury in a timeless pastoral setting.
Fourteen varieties of locally quarried marble were used to construct the palace. Inlays of semiprecious stones and metals embellish the walls and floors of 39 individually designed suites. Guests may relax in the green marble pool or rejuvenate in the Devi Spa by L'Occitane, where a variety of traditional and modern spa treatments are offered. Adjourn to the restaurant or one of the special venues of the palace to enjoy a spectacular Rajasthani sunset during dinner, accompanied by the gentle strains of live flute music.
"We invite guests to experience modern India, where there is harmony in contrast, and traditional hospitality and heritage go hand-in-hand with contemporary design and aesthetics," says Mr. Rajnish Sabharwal, President, Boutique Hotels India Pvt. Ltd.
